JEJU HAENYEO

Jeju, a beautiful island located in the southern part of South Korea, is home to haenyeo (female divers).
As children, girls followed their mothers and friends to the sea, and the sea became their workplace.
They held their breath and went into the deep, wide sea with their bare bodies, helping their families survive by harvesting seafood.
They became the foundation of Jeju's economy in the past with their diligence and strong will to survive.
